Grand Celebration of the 80th Independence Day at Delhi Public School, Dehradun Delhi Public School, Dehradun, celebrated the 80th Independence Day with patriotic fervour, enthusiasm, and a strong sense of national pride. The celebration reflected the spirit of unity, discipline, responsibility, and love for the nation. **Retired Brigadier Shri Krishna Gopal Behl graced the occasion as the Chief Guest**, adding distinction and inspiration to the celebrations. The programme began with engaging anchoring by Avni and Shri, followed by the ceremonial flag hoisting and parade. The unfurling of the Tricolour filled the campus with patriotic spirit, followed by the National Anthem. Addressing the gathering, Principal Shri B. K. Singh spoke about the significance of Independence and urged students to honour the sacrifices of the freedom fighters by becoming responsible, compassionate, and committed citizens. He emphasised the values of unity, integrity, democracy, and national responsibility. Kartik presented an inspiring Hindi thought, while Head Girl Priyanshi Gairola and Head Boy Yatharth delivered motivating addresses on social and national responsibilities. Priyanshi administered the Girl Child Protection Pledge, and Yatharth led the students in taking the Water Conservation Pledge, highlighting the importance of protecting the girl child and preserving natural resources. The cultural segment featured a soulful Hindi poetry recital by Praveer Sharma, followed by a vibrant patriotic song mashup and dance performance. The students’ energetic presentations added colour and fervour to the celebrations. A noteworthy highlight was the Yoga Presentation, through which students conveyed the message of physical well-being, mental balance, and disciplined living. The celebration was a reflection of the students’ talent, confidence, and patriotic spirit. It reinforced the message that freedom comes with responsibility and that every citizen has a role to play in nation-building. The programme concluded on a note of pride and renewed commitment towards building a strong, united, and progressive India.

Curtain Call – Voices of the Classic

Delhi Public School, Dehradun hosted “Curtain Call – Voices of the Classic,” an Inter-School Drama Competition on 17th August 2026, celebrating literature, theatre and the creative talents of young performers. The event brought together the participating schools on a common platform to reinterpret timeless classics through dramatic performances. The programme commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, followed by a graceful Welcome Dance. Principal Shri B. K. Singh welcomed the guests, judges, participating schools and the audience. The distinguished panel of judges comprised Ms. Sunita Vijay, writer, art and film critic; Mr. Sandeep Nayak, senior theatre artist, writer, actor and director; and Ms. Sushma Barthwal, senior theatre artist and actor. Their presence and valuable observations enriched the event. The participating schools presented diverse adaptations of classic literature. Doon Cambridge School presented She Rose, She Burned, She Became; Genesis School staged Macbeth; Delhi Public School, Dehradun presented Julius Caesar; Sri Sai Baba International School presented The Prince and the Pauper; and Agape Mission School presented Macbeth: The Murder Scene. The performances reflected confidence, creativity, teamwork and impressive theatrical expression. Following the performances, the judges shared their observations and words of encouragement. The Second Runner-up was Genesis School, First Runner-up, Doon Cambridge school and Winners were Delhi Public school Dehradun and Agape Mission School. The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks to the participating schools, teacher mentors, judges, organisers and audience.

DPS Dehradun Shines at Inter-DPS National Festival Literario 2026 It is a moment of immense pride and delight for Delhi Public School, Dehradun to have participated in the prestigious Inter-DPS National Festival Literario 2026, organised by Delhi Public School, Chandigarh, under the esteemed guidance of The DPS Society, on 21st and 22nd August 2026. The journey to the national final was itself a remarkable achievement. DPS Dehradun emerged among the 20 top-performing schools pan India through the online preliminary round, competing against more than 200 DPS schools from across the country, and successfully secured its place in the grand finale at DPS Chandigarh. At the national-level festival, where 16 leading DPS schools from across India competed, DPS Dehradun delivered an exceptional performance and secured the Second Position in the Overall Championship, with DPS R.K. Puram securing the first position. Adding to the glory, our talented students brought home individual accolades. Malay Tripathi and Shruti Pathoi secured the First Position in “Artful Articulation”, while Pravir Sharma bagged the Second Position in “Persona Pursuit.” The achievement reflects the students’ literary excellence, creativity, confidence, and dedication, along with the committed guidance and mentorship of their teachers. HPV Vaccination Programme

HPV Vaccination Programme A Human Papillomavirus (HPV) Vaccination Programme was organised at Delhi Public School, Dehradun, on 22 August 2026 by the Community Health Centre (CHC), Raipur, under the guidance of Dr. Pankaj Juyal. The programme aimed to create awareness among students about HPV, its prevention, and the importance of timely vaccination. HPV vaccines were administered to eligible girl students by the medical team from CHC Raipur under proper medical supervision and with the required consent. Dr. Pankaj Juyal and the medical team sensitised the students about HPV vaccination, preventive healthcare, and the importance of taking appropriate measures for long-term health and well-being. During the programme, Principal Shri B. K. Singh interacted with the students and motivated all eligible girl students to avail themselves of the HPV vaccination, emphasising the importance of preventive healthcare and making informed health choices. An Inspiring Journey into the Heart of Indian Democracy. Educational Visit to Rashtrapati Bhavan & Parliament House, New Delhi An enriching educational visit to Rashtrapati Bhavan and the Parliament House, New Delhi, was organised on 24 August 2026, providing 87 students, accompanied by 7 teachers and the trip coordinator, with a unique opportunity to experience some of the most significant institutions and symbols of India’s democratic heritage. The visit offered students a memorable blend of learning, history, architecture and civic awareness. At Rashtrapati Bhavan, the students explored its magnificent architecture, exquisite interiors, artwork and significant spaces while gaining insights into the rich historical and cultural legacy of the official residence of the President of India. The visit to the Mughal Gardens added to the experience, offering the students a refreshing glimpse of its beautifully landscaped surroundings. The students then proceeded to the New Parliament Building, where they were introduced to its distinctive architecture, modern facilities and the vision behind its creation. Visiting the Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha gave them a valuable opportunity to connect their classroom learning about the Indian Constitution and parliamentary democracy with the institutions where these democratic processes come alive. The juxtaposition of the Old Parliament House and the New Parliament Building was particularly meaningful. It allowed the students to reflect upon India’s remarkable democratic journey—honouring its historic foundations while looking towards the aspirations of a growing and evolving nation. Beyond the academic learning, the visit gave students an experience of national pride, responsibility and citizenship. It was a day filled with curiosity, excitement and moments that they are sure to remember for years to come. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our respected Principal and the entire Management for their constant support, trust and encouragement in providing our students with such meaningful learning opportunities beyond the classroom. With great enthusiasm and attention to detail, our young learners transformed their knowledge into beautiful embroidered designs, proudly showcasing their creativity and learning. *# **REPORT ON “VOICES UNLEASHED – FREEDOM THROUGH EXPRESSION”** **Date:** 13th August 2026 **Classes:** V–VIII **Activity:** Inter-House Activity **Theme:** *“My Voice, My Ideas, My Freedom”* An engaging **Inter-House Activity, “Voices Unleashed – Freedom Through Expression,”** was organised for the students of Classes V–VIII with the aim of encouraging creativity, confidence and freedom of expression. The activity provided students with a platform to express their thoughts and ideas through various forms such as **speech, poetry, storytelling, role play, song/rap, mime, dance and other creative expressions**. One student from each class, V to VIII, represented each of the six Houses, making the event a vibrant competition among the Houses. The participants presented original and creative performances within the prescribed **2–3 minute time limit**. The students displayed remarkable confidence, enthusiasm and imagination while exploring the theme of freedom through their unique perspectives. The activity also highlighted the importance of expressing oneself freely while respecting the opinions, feelings and dignity of others. The event unfolded through a series of exciting stages: Theme & Costume Presentation The participants showcased their creativity through costumes based on the allotted theme “Fashion Art.” Each outfit reflected imagination, originality and a unique blend of art and fashion. Costume Showcase Students presented thoughtfully designed costumes that highlighted creative ideas, artistic elements and innovative styling. The use of colours, patterns and accessories added charm and individuality to every presentation. Ramp Walk The highlight of the competition was the confident ramp walk. The celebration began with lamp lighting, followed by a melodious patriotic song and vibrant performances by the students. The Nursery students portrayed brave soldiers, while Pre-Nursery presented a delightful ramp walk. A meaningful skit beautifully depicted India’s struggle for freedom. Principal Sir addressed the students with inspiring words, blessings and Independence Day wishes. The programme concluded with the National Anthem, leaving everyone filled with pride and patriotism.

*Documentary Screening on "Gajlok" – World Elephant Day 2026* The INTACH Club of *Delhi Public School Dehradun* organized a documentary screening on "Gajlok" on the occasion of World Elephant Day, 12th August 2026 for the INTACH Club. The documentary provided valuable insights into the significance, history, and conservation of elephants in India. It elaborated on the migration of elephants to the Indian subcontinent and their integral role in India’s natural and cultural heritage. The screening further highlighted various welfare and conservation initiatives undertaken for the protection and well-being of elephants. Students gained awareness regarding the challenges faced by elephants and the importance of collective and responsible measures for their conservation. The documentary also explored the cultural and spiritual significance of elephants in Indian society. It emphasized how elephants have been regarded as auspicious and are deeply associated with Indian religious traditions and mythology. Special mention was made of Lord Ganesha, revered as a symbol of wisdom, prosperity, and good fortune. The session proved to be highly informative and engaging for the students. It fostered a deeper understanding of the relationship between elephants, the environment, and Indian culture, and reinforced the need to protect and conserve these magnificent animals. The campus was filled with joy as the little ones arrived dressed in bright yellow outfits, carrying yellow balloons and their favourite yellow toys and cut-outs. The children were introduced to the significance of the colour yellow through interactive discussions and engaging activities. They enthusiastically participated in fun-filled activities such as Corn Chaat Making, Giraffe Making, Duck Making, Tearing and Pasting, Colouring, and Thumb Printing, enhancing their creativity and fine motor skills. The programme commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, followed by the Principal’s inspiring address. Addressing the newly elected student leaders, Principal Mr. B. K. Singh emphasized that leadership is not about authority or position but about character, commitment, and the willingness to serve others. He urged the students to lead by example, uphold the values of honesty, discipline, humility, and compassion, and carry out their responsibilities with dedication. The insightful session was held under the able observation of our Vice Principal, Ms. Sujata Singh, reaffirming the school’s unwavering commitment to student wellness, safety, and holistic development. The workshop was conducted by Sh. Anil Nautiyal, Intelligence Officer, NCB, who addressed the young audience with remarkable clarity and empathy. The motive of the session was to sensitise students about the grave physical, mental, and social consequences of narcotics and substance abuse, and to empower them with the knowledge and life skills needed to make informed and responsible choices. Mr. Nautiyal focused on building resilience among adolescents against peer pressure while promoting a strong culture of ‘Say No to Drugs’. He also shed light on common myths, legal provisions, and the various support systems available for help and rehabilitation, encouraging students to become proactive ambassadors of a drug-free society. School Excursion to Kanatal: A Journey into Nature and Spirituality “In every walk with nature, one receives far more than he seeks.” The students of Classes XI and XII of Delhi Public School, Kalagaon, Dehradun embarked on an exciting two-day educational and recreational trip to Kanatal from 29th May 2026 to 30th May 2026. Filled with enthusiasm and anticipation, they departed from the school in the morning and began a memorable journey amidst the serene beauty of the Himalayas. Upon reaching Kanatal, the students enjoyed lunch, settled into their respective rooms, and later visited the famous Dhanaulti Eco Park. The cool mountain breeze, drifting clouds, mist-covered landscapes, breathtaking Himalayan views, and a light drizzle created a magical atmosphere as students enjoyed trekking, photography, and memorable moments with friends. The evening was equally delightful, with a lively bonfire, music, dance, refreshments, and a sumptuous dinner fostering camaraderie and unforgettable memories. The second day dawned with renewed excitement as students explored the local market before proceeding to the revered Surkanda Devi Temple. “Faith is taking the first step even when you don't see the whole staircase.” Dedicated to Goddess Surkanda Devi, one of the sacred Shakti Peethas, the temple's tranquil ambience inspired students to appreciate faith, perseverance, and inner strength. While most students trekked to the temple with their teachers, a few availed themselves of the ropeway facility under the supervision of other dedicated staff members. After offering prayers, the students began their return journey. The trip provided valuable lessons in teamwork, resilience, appreciation of nature, and respect for cultural and spiritual heritage. Today was the third day of the Summer Camp, and the theme was Pyjama Party. Wow! The children were extremely excited, happy, and full of energy. Our little stars came dressed in beautiful night suits and colorful pyjama sets, looking absolutely adorable, smart, and cheerful. As the children entered, the fun began with music, dance, and lots of excitement. The kids enjoyed a wonderful Balloon Dance Activity, where they danced happily with their friends and had an amazing time. The highlight of the day was the much-awaited Movie Day. The classroom was beautifully arranged like a mini movie hall with proper lighting and a cozy setup. Children brought their popcorn and snacks, which made the experience even more exciting and enjoyable. The movie shown today was Swapped, and the children were thrilled and fully engaged while watching it with their friends. The entire day was filled with laughter, enjoyment, fun, and happy memories. The children truly had the best movie-time experience at school and went home with smiling faces and joyful hearts.

Students from all six houses participated with great enthusiasm and confidence. Through expressive dialogues, creative enactments, and emotional performances, the participants highlighted the countless responsibilities handled by mothers and conveyed heartfelt messages of gratitude and respect. The performances reflected excellent teamwork, creativity, stage presence, and sincere efforts by the students. An educational and recreational trip to Crystal World, Haridwar was organized by Delhi Public School, Dehradun for the students of Classes VI to VIII on 2nd May 2026. The excursion aimed at providing students with a refreshing break from routine academics while fostering bonding, teamwork, and experiential learning. The students, accompanied by their teachers, departed from the school premises early in the morning in high spirits. Upon reaching Crystal World, they were warmly welcomed and briefed about the safety protocols and guidelines to be followed throughout the visit. The day was filled with excitement as students explored the various attractions of the amusement park. They enthusiastically enjoyed a range of rides and water-based activities, which not only added to their thrill but also helped them build confidence and overcome inhibitions. The wave pool and water slides were among the major highlights of the trip, where students spent joyful moments with their peers. A special mention must be made of the excellent hospitality extended during the visit. All students and staff were served delicious breakfast, lunch, and evening refreshments, which were well-organized and appreciated by everyone. Teachers ensured that all students adhered to safety norms and maintained discipline throughout the excursion. The programme commenced with the ceremonial hoisting of the National Flag, symbolising the sovereignty and unity of the nation followed by the resonant strains of the National Anthem,. Adding musical grace to the occasion, the school choir rendered a soulful patriotic song, capturing the essence of devotion, sacrifice, and unity. The celebration was further enriched by expressive dance performances and a serene yoga presentation, reflecting India’s rich cultural heritage and the values of balance, discipline, and inner strength. The ceremony began with the traditional lamp lighting, followed by an inspiring address by Principal Mr. B. K. Singh, highlighting perseverance and the true purpose of education. Students presented soulful music, vibrant dance, and a yoga display, reflecting the school’s emphasis on creativity and discipline. Scholar Badges, proficiency certificates, blazers, ties, and medals were awarded for outstanding performance in the 2024–25 session. Proud Achievement for DPS Kalagaon! We are delighted to share that our student, Ms. Sherali Pattanaik (Class X), has achieved an extraordinary milestone in the world of Chess. At just 15 years of age, Sherali has crossed the ELO rating of 2300 points in the July 2025 FIDE rating list — one of the key requirements for becoming a Woman Grandmaster. With this feat: She has become the highest-rated U-15 girl player in India. Ranked World No. 3 in the U-15 girls category. Conferred with the prestigious title of FIDE Master. Trained under International Chess Grandmaster & Arjuna Awardee, Shri Pravin Thipsay, Sherali has consistently shown exceptional dedication and brilliance. With continued training and international exposure, she is all set to become the first Woman International Master and Woman Grandmaster from Uttarakhand. Shri Umesh Sharma Kau, MLA of Raipur constituency Dehradun Uttarakhand presided over the event and Shri Dhananjay Chaturvedi District Judge Champawat Uttarakhand was the Guest of Honour. The festivities kicked off with a vibrant opening ceremony by releasing balloons featuring the school band and a March Past of athletes led by the sports captains proudly carrying their respective house flags. From track and field events like sprints, relays to team sports like Taekwando, each competition was fiercely contested, showcasing the dedication and skill of the participants. Students presented colorful cultural performanceslike Dance drill, Yoga adding a touch of creativity and artistic flair to the event. The sense of friendly rivalry reached its peak during the inter-house competitions, where students passionately cheered for their respective houses. The winners were awarded with medals and the overall winner was awarded the coveted Sports Day Trophy, creating a sense of pride and accomplishment. As the day concluded, the tired yet elated participants and spectators left with a sense of accomplishment and shared joy. The chief guest appreciated the efforts of school staff and students and said, "Sports Day was not merely a competition but a celebration of the values that make our school community strong – teamwork, perseverance, and the pursuit of excellence." It's matter of honour and gratification for Delhi Public school Dehradun that Mr Alok Kumar Bhui, PGT Mathematics was conferred with the most prestigious Teachers Brilliance Award 2023-24 on 30 November 2023, Thursday. The ceremony was organised by Amrita Viswa Vidyapitham and Dainik Jagaran I-Next, Dehradun in which 18 teachers from various schools of Dehradun were awarded in different categories. Mr Alok Kumar Bhui was honoured as the Best Innovative Teacher and felicitated with medal and certificate. Founders’ Day serves as a platform for recognizing the efforts of those who have contributed to the school's success, and for celebrating the school's many accomplishments. Delhi Public School, Dehradun, a promising educational institution of the M.P. Singh Foundation celebrates its Founder’s Day on 6 November 2023 to pay a glowing tribute to our mentor and guiding light Shri MP. Singh Ji a man of wisdom, selflessness, and culture on the gracious occasion of his birth anniversary with a magnificent edutainment Mega Event “VIVIDHANJALI – AN EPOCH”. The day began with the traditional lighting of the lamp by the school principal, followed by a prayer to seek blessings for the event's success. The cultural program was the centerpiece of the celebration. Inter school competitions were held in school in which more than 15 schools with 500 students participated. The events were Graffiti, Caricature making, Qawali, Sufi dance, Poetry enactment, Ikebana, Sweet charcuterie board decoration, Yoga and Short film making competitions. Many intellects were invited as judges of the events. Students showcased their talents through dance, music, and drama performances. The highlight of the program was mesmerizing Sufi dance performance that depicted the rich cultural diversity of our country. Overall Sai Grace Academy stood first, Doon International school, second and Shikshankur- The Global school stood third in the competition. Directors Akanksha Singh graced the occasion as the chief guest. She appreciated the efforts put by staff and students to make this day a great success. Principal Shri B K Singh and Vice Principal Mrs Sujata Singh gave away the prizes to the winners. Sir applauded the healthy competition and promised that next year we will have much bigger event than that of this year. The celebration served as a day of reflection, inspiration, and pride in our school's legacy. CYCLOTHON-2023 The Cyclothon event was held on 5th November 2023 in Delhi Public school Dehradun was a resounding success, promoting fitness, environmental consciousness, and community spirit. With participants ranging from students of 14 years and above, the event aimed to encourage cycling and reduce carbon emissions. The Cyclothon began from school and continued along a scenic route though Kirsali chowk, helipad, arborea housing society, Sai Mandir to the picturesque destination of Mussoorie diversion and again back to school. Shri Sunil Uniyal Gama, the Mayor of Dehradun graced the occasion as Chief guest. Shri Ghanshyam Kirsali, a prominent social worker graced as the guest of honour. The event commenced with an inspiring speech by the school principal, emphasizing the importance of sustainable living. The event featured strategically placed refreshment stops where participants could rehydrate and refuel.The finish line was marked with cheers and celebrations as participants completed the Cyclothon. Sarthak Pundir stood first, Daksh Lakhera second and Aryan Pratap Singh stood third in the competition. The first ten winners were given Gold medal, second 10 were given Silver medals and third 10 winners were given Bronze medals. All participants were given participation certificates. The chief guest applauded the healthy initiative taken by school and mentioned the importance of healthy lifestyle to be adopted by youngsters. The Batch of 2022-23 brought laurels to the school by performing exceedingly well both in Class X and XII. We proudly announce the much-awaited result of both the classes released by CBSE on 12th May 2023. The students have earned a comprehensive range of excellent individual scores epitomizing excellence and hard work. The school philosophy of personalized attention, regular assignments, motivation, proper guidance & counselling along with remedial measures has brought us desired results in the Board examinations. It was indeed heart-warming to note our outstanding performance in both CBSE Class X and XII. An exceptionally high number of distinctions, AIS, average percentage and number of students scoring above 90% in the aggregate, has definitely given us a place of pride in the field of school - education. Indeed, in a short span the school has emerged as one of the leading schools of Dehradun, receiving appreciation and accolades from one and all. The eighth batch of Class XII of Delhi Public School Dehradun brought laurels to the school by performing exceedingly well in all the streams. In Humanities Ms Jhalak Singh is the school topper with 98.0 %, in Science, Miss Diya Sharma and Miss Riya Koshyari were jointly the school toppers with 96.8 % and in Commerce Ms Nandini Burman was the school topper with 95.4% and 57 Students scored above 90%. In Class X Master Virottam Dutt Raturi has topped with 98.4%.Master Aayush Chawla and Miss Mishti Bhui scored 97.6% and 97.4% respectively bagging the second and third position in the school merit. 66 Students scored above 90%.
