Winter Carnival 2025

Amid the gentle winter breeze and the joyous spirit of Christmas, Delhi Public School, Dehradun, hosted the much-awaited Winter Carnival 2025 on Tuesday, 23 December 2025. The campus transformed into a festive wonderland, echoing with laughter, music, and celebration, as students, parents, staff members, and guests gathered to welcome the season of joy and togetherness. The event was graced by the esteemed presence of the Manager of DPS Dehradun, Ms Shubhra Singh, along with Ms Mannat Singh, whose presence added warmth and encouragement to the vibrant celebrations. The carnival was further honoured by the presence of Dr. Naresh Bansal, Hon’ble Member of the Rajya Sabha, as the Chief Guest, whose gracious attendance added dignity and significance to the occasion. Along with him, Principal Shri B. K. Singh inaugurated the Winter Carnival by releasing balloons, marking the joyful commencement of the festivities. Beautiful Christmas décor, twinkling lights, and vibrant stalls created an atmosphere reminiscent of a joyful winter fair straight out of a storybook. The Food Court became a paradise for food lovers, offering an enchanting blend of flavours—from sizzling wood-fired pizzas and gourmet burgers to traditional Indian delicacies. Excitement filled the air at the Fun and Adventure Zones, where thrilling activities such as ziplining, rock climbing, paintball, VR games, trampoline parks, and haunted houses kept the young and young-at-heart thoroughly entertained. Adding rhythm and sparkle to the day was the Live Entertainment Arena, where melodious carols, energetic dance performances, and talent showcases kept the festive spirit alive throughout the day. The carnival also carried a meaningful purpose through its Educational Guidance Section, offering students valuable insights into future career pathways. A major attraction was the Shopping Arcade, highlighted by the grand launch of House of Tulsi, along with many other exciting stalls. The Lucky Draw added an extra layer of excitement, giving everyone a chance to win amazing prizes. Wrapped in Christmas cheer and winter magic, the event left behind cherished memories and reaffirmed Delhi Public School, Dehradun’s commitment to holistic education, cultural enrichment, and community bonding.

Grandparents’ Day

Grandparents’ Day Celebrated at Delhi Public School, Dehradun Dehradun, December 6, 2025 Delhi Public School, Dehradun celebrated Grandparents’ Day with great warmth and joy. Principal Mr. B. K. Singh welcomed the guests, after which students of Pre-Nursery to Class II presented a delightful cultural programme. Grandparents enjoyed the performances, shared nostalgic memories, and happily joined their grandchildren in dances, the ramp walk, and fun activities. The event concluded with heartfelt thanks from the Principal and left everyone with cherished memories of love, bonding, and family values.

76th Constitution Day on 26th November 2025

Delhi Public School, Dehradun celebrated the **76th Constitution Day** on **26th November 2025** with great respect and patriotic spirit. A special assembly was organized to commemorate the adoption of the Indian Constitution and to remind students of its enduring values. The programme began at **9:30 AM** with the melodious rendition of **“Vande Mataram,”** the National Song of India, sung by the school choir. The entire school participated with enthusiasm, creating an atmosphere filled with national pride. Following this, the **Preamble of the Constitution** was recited in unison by students and staff. Taking the Preamble as an oath reinforced the principles of justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity, which form the foundation of our democracy. To further enhance students’ understanding, a **short quiz on the Constitution** was conducted. The quiz aimed at increasing awareness about constitutional values, important articles, and the history behind the formation of the Constitution. Students actively participated and showcased great interest and knowledge. The Principal, **Shri B.K. Singh ji**, then addressed the gathering with an inspiring and enlightening speech. He emphasized the importance of the Constitution in guiding citizens, safeguarding their rights, and strengthening the nation. He urged students to uphold constitutional values in their daily lives and to grow into responsible and informed citizens. The assembly concluded with a renewed sense of patriotism and a deeper appreciation for the Indian Constitution.

The Martyrdom Day of Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Ji

Special Assembly and Prabhat Pheri Observed on Guru Teg Bahadur Martyrdom Day To commemorate the Martyrdom Day of Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Ji, a special assembly was conducted in the school on 24th November 2025. The program aimed to honour the supreme sacrifice made by Guru Ji in defending religious freedom and promoting the values of peace, tolerance, and humanity. The assembly began with a soulful rendition of shabad kirtan, followed by speeches delivered by students highlighting the life, philosophy, and contributions of Guru Teg Bahadur Ji. The Principal addressed the gathering, urging students to draw inspiration from Guru Ji’s courage, selflessness, and unwavering commitment to truth. Following the assembly, a Prabhat Pheri was organized with the enthusiastic participation of students, teachers, and staff. The procession echoed with devotional hymns as it moved through the nearby localities, spreading awareness of Guru Ji’s legacy. The event concluded with a collective reflection on the relevance of Guru Teg Bahadur Ji’s teachings in today’s world and a pledge to uphold the values of unity, compassion, and justice.

Scholars’ Badge Ceremony 2025

Delhi Public School, Dehradun celebrated its Scholars’ Badge Ceremony 2025 on 15 November 2025, honouring academic excellence and holistic achievement. The event was graced by Chief Guest Shri Manoj Kumar Gupta, Regional Officer, CBSE Dehradun. The ceremony began with the traditional lamp lighting, followed by an inspiring address by Principal Mr. B. K. Singh, highlighting perseverance and the true purpose of education. Students presented soulful music, vibrant dance, and a yoga display, reflecting the school’s emphasis on creativity and discipline. Scholar Badges, proficiency certificates, blazers, ties, and medals were awarded for outstanding performance in the 2024–25 session. From Nursery to Class III, students received proficiency certificates, while higher classes were honoured with Green and Blue Badges, Blue Blazers, Blue Ties, and Gold Medals. Two students—Anmol Kakkar and Arnav Giri Goswami—achieved the rare honour of the Gold Medal for securing the Scholar Badge for seven consecutive years. The school also conferred Honours Badges on multi-talented achievers in sports, chess, badminton, taekwondo, and shooting, including standout performers such as Soureen Chauhan, Sherali Pattnaik, Dev Dhyani, Sonakshi Gupta, and others. The Chief Guest praised the school’s commitment to discipline and excellence. The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks and the National Anthem, marking a proud and memorable celebration.

VIVIDHANJALI–EK PARAMPARA - 2025 DPS Dehradun Celebrates the Spirit of Uttarakhand Through an Edutainment Extravaganza Delhi Public School, Dehradun, celebrated its annual cultural fest “Vividhanjali–Ek Parampara” on 6th November 2025, an edutainment-based programme organised every year to commemorate the birth anniversary of the Founder Chairman, Shri M. P. Singhji. The day stands as a tribute to the visionary founder whose ideals continue to inspire generations of learners. Each year, the school organises inter-school competitions as part of this grand celebration, combining learning with creativity and performance. The theme for this year was ‘25th anniversary of Uttarakhand – The Land of the Gods,’ celebrating the state’s vibrant heritage, art, and cultural traditions. A series of competitions were held, each reflecting the colours and spirit of Uttarakhand — including Folk Tales of Uttarakhand, Folk Dance, Folk Music, Nukkad Natak on the theme “Palayan” (Migration), Documentary Film Making, Soft board decoration, Digital Brochure Design, Shark Tank, Rangoli, Quiz, Aipan Art, and Ramp Walk. The enthusiastic participation of schools from across Dehradun made the event a lively and enriching experience. The programme was graced by Dr. Akanksha Singh, Director DPS Dehradun, whose presence added warmth and inspiration to the occasion. The event began with a floral tribute to Shri M. P. Singhji, followed by the felicitation of the esteemed guests and judges invited to adjudge the events. A melodious musical performance marked the formal opening of the day’s celebrations. Adding to the festive charm, food stalls offering a range of scrumptious dishes and beverages were set up for students and participating schools, turning the event into a delightful carnival of culture, learning, and fun. It was truly a day of joy, interaction, and meaningful exchange of ideas among students from various schools, strengthening bonds within the educational fraternity. After a day filled with vibrant performances and spirited competition, the overall winners were announced: First Position: DSB International School, Rishikesh Second Position: Sai Grace Academy International, Dehradun Third Position: The Horizon School, Dehradun DPS Dehradun was the first runner-up, but being the host school, the trophy was rolled to Sai Grace Academy Dehradun. The Director, Dr Akanksha Singh gave away the prizes to the winners and congratulated all participants for their dedication and artistic brilliance. She emphasized that such events not only promote cultural values but also nurture young minds to appreciate India’s diverse traditions. The Principal Shri B K Singh expressed heartfelt appreciation for the dedicated efforts of the staff and students, whose teamwork and creativity made the programme a grand success. International Chess Woman Grandmaster

Proud Achievement for DPS Kalagaon! We are delighted to share that our student, Ms. Sherali Pattanaik (Class X), has achieved an extraordinary milestone in the world of Chess. At just 15 years of age, Sherali has crossed the ELO rating of 2300 points in the July 2025 FIDE rating list — one of the key requirements for becoming a Woman Grandmaster. With this feat: She has become the highest-rated U-15 girl player in India. Ranked World No. 3 in the U-15 girls category. Conferred with the prestigious title of FIDE Master. Trained under International Chess Grandmaster & Arjuna Awardee, Shri Pravin Thipsay, Sherali has consistently shown exceptional dedication and brilliance. With continued training and international exposure, she is all set to become the first Woman International Master and Woman Grandmaster from Uttarakhand. We thank Grandmaster Pravin Thipsay for his guidance and encouragement and look forward to supporting Sherali as she scales even greater heights. Let us all congratulate Sherali on her inspiring journey and wish her the very best for her future tournaments!

CBSE STEM DLD Expert

The workshop was led by eminent UPES professors, Dr. Christline Nelson and Dr. Ratnesh Pandey, who brought their vast experience and insights to the session. Their interactive presentations and practical guidance empowered teachers to embrace innovative strategies in their classrooms. The workshop received enthusiastic participation from over 75 teachers from different schools of the the city, who engaged in meaningful discussions and collaborative activities. Investiture Ceremony

The Investiture Ceremony for the academic year 2025-26 was held with great pomp and dignity at Delhi Public School, Dehradun. The event marked the formal delegation of responsibilities to the newly elected student council members, fostering leadership and a sense of responsibility among students. The ceremony was graced by the esteemed Chief Guest, Mr. Sunil Kumar Meena, IPS, Inspector General, Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) whose inspiring presence added immense value to the occasion. The Chief Guest was warmly welcomed and felicitated by the school authorities. The event commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, symbolizing the dispelling of darkness and the spreading of wisdom. This was followed by an invigorating welcome song presented by the school choir, setting a joyous tone for the ceremony. The Principal of DPS Dehradun, in his address, extended a warm welcome to the guests, parents, and students. He emphasized the importance of leadership, discipline, and service, which the newly appointed student council must uphold. The cultural program included a vibrant dance performance and a mesmerizing yoga display, showcasing the talent and discipline of the students. The March Past by the student contingents, led by the school band, was a highlight of the event and demonstrated precision, coordination, and school spirit. The most awaited moment was the pinning of badges to the newly elected Head Boy, Head Girl, Prefects, and House Captains, signifying the beginning of their leadership journey. The oath of office was administered, with the student leaders solemnly pledging to uphold the values and discipline of the school. As a mark of academic excellence, the school also celebrated the achievements of its scholars by felicitating the toppers of Classes X and XII. In addition, teachers who played a significant role in delivering outstanding board results were honored and appreciated for their dedication and commitment. The ceremony concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by the Head Boy and Head Girl, followed by the rendition of the National Anthem, filling the atmosphere with pride and patriotism.
